Gary
Edmiston
production team leader, Hose Technology
In 1995, Gary
Edmiston took a job at the Hose Technology Inc. plant in Williamsport,
Ind. In 2002, he was assigned to the position of production team
leader. According to area manager Chantell VanLeer, the person who
nominated him for the MRO All-Pro Team, Gary inherited “a huge
amount of problems with our production equipment.”
According to VanLeer,
the previous production team leader had ordered $12,000 worth of
parts, in one month, for one machine alone. Upon accepting the role,
Gary found the mechanical problems.
“Now,
that machine operates in perfect condition, day in and day out, with
expenditures of approximately $300 per month,” says VanLeer. “He
saved us $11,700 in his first month in this job. But that was only one
machine. Over time, he has worked wonders on the six other major
pieces of production machinery. He has a great production team who
likes and respects him and who do wonders under his guidance. Because
of his dedication, ingenuity and leadership, our company has moved in
directions we never thought possible.”
