Mike
Tischler
machine mechanic, Baker Oil Tools
Kay Johnson, a buyer
at Baker Oil Tools’ 400-plus-employee Oklahoma plant, nominated
Mike. She wrote:
“Mike has been with
the company for 23 years. His responsibilities include machine repairs
(CNC and conventional) and tool repairs (manual and pneumatic). He’s
also the Total Productive Maintenance coordinator and safety champion
for the maintenance team.
“Mike is a team
player, a quick thinker and will volunteer for the dirty jobs that no
one else wants to do. He has a wit and sense of humor that makes him
well-liked and accepted by his peers and all of our shop employees in
general. He is eager to learn new techniques and can usually figure
out a faster, easier way of getting the task done. During our team
meetings, he always has a suggestion to improve upon the application
or task at hand, but he also accepts advice and respects the opinions
of others on the team.
“Mike
makes a real difference on our maintenance team with his energetic
style and gift for gab, which helps him converse and communicate
easily with his ‘customers.’
He’s a valuable asset to our team.”
