Michael
Orozco
master electrician,
Armstrong World Industries
Many times, the best
stories come straight from the source. Co-workers at Armstrong World
Industries’ plant in South Gate, Calif., had this to say about
Michael Orozco on his All-Pro Team nomination form:
“Mike has been
instrumental to the manufacturing success of the Residential Tile
Line. Over the past 4 1/2 years, he has led numerous production line
equipment improvements. He led projects for installing new labeling
applicators, inkjet systems and palletizing conveyors, and upgrading
the bar-code scanners. In his biggest project to date, he served as
the manager for the installation of a new stretch-wrap machine. For
this project, he researched and sourced the best possible machine,
wrote the appropriation for the funds and did most of the electrical
installation.
“Mike
also had a big impact on a three-phase installation for improving the
tile manufactured at South Gate. This involved upgrading to a
three-axis servo system, variable-speed drives, touch screens and a
programmable logic controller. Mike’s dedication, attitude and
desire greatly impact the tile-making process at our plant.”
