The Clopay Plastic Products division of Clopay Corporation is a global leader in specialty films, extrusion coatings, custom printing and engineered laminations for the hygienic, healthcare, protective apparel and industrial markets.

In 2002, Clopay’s management launched an effort to create world-class maintenance systems for its plants and Lippert’s Augusta, Kentucky plant was tasked with developing a lubrication program. In 2005 the program Lippert and his team created for Clopay won the first International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML) John R. Battle Award for excellence in machinery lubrication.

Since then Clopay’s lube room has been widely recognized as one of the world’s best. It is cited in numerous training programs and books and Lippert has addressed the program in publications including MRO Today and at conferences including Lean University.

Clopay’s lube room remains a model of lubrication excellence and has been studied by many United States corporations, government agencies and manufacturers from six foreign countries.
